It just seems awkward that it asks for more control than anyone should be willing to give. Now a lot more are beginning to ask for that permission and not all will allow me to go any further if I click X. Some let me continue to play, even if I click on the X. Much like Steam or a game asking me permission to allow them further access to my PC, which I am weary of as well. The game is already downloaded, what more does it need access to and why do some games still play without giving such access, while others do not?
It seems it is becoming more and more common.
And there are a few other games that are doing it, but most did not have this problem until some what recently. I can get around that by playing through the Shrine (mod?). Ultimate Doom lets me get to the skill level screen, but then the game freezes. Postal Redux came out it 2016 and Perfect Vermin came out this month actually. *cough* Someone mentioned that because the launcher will not allow me to proceed further, even though it does not outright tell me the problem, that is the problem.
